Inside Cheuvreux Notarial Office – 2014

Gilles Raynaldy responded to an invitation from the Cheuvreux Notary Office to create a body of work connected to the firm’s relocation and consolidation into a building in Paris’s 9th arrondissement. The photographs were taken both in the former offices, still in use at the time, and in the new building under construction. The gestures, postures, and focus of office employees—alongside those of construction workers on site—are carefully captured and brought into dialogue.
The move, marked by disruption and active reorganization, oscillates between past and future, allowing Gilles Raynaldy to explore within a single series the different temporalities at play within the firm. The move, marked by disruption and active reorganization, oscillates between past and future, allowing Gilles Raynaldy to explore within a single series the different temporalities at play within the firm.
The photographic series was subsequently integrated into the firm’s internal and external communication materials. On the day of the opening, a slideshow was presented across screens in the meeting rooms, extending the project into a shared visual experience for staff and visitors alike.
